Has anyone worked at Convergys and what was it like?

Does anyone know of an NHS/Private dentist that has worked on WOODWIND musicians?

  • I am a Saxophonist in the UK. I need some dental work done to straighten out my bottom front teeth. I would prefer to use a dentist that has worked with woodwind musicians before, as this operation could affect my playing severely if done wrong, or given bad advice. I have gone through "British Association for Performing Arts Medicine" but they could only recommend a private dentist, and unfortunately I don't think I can afford the fees. :-( Can anyone recommend an NHS dentist that has worked on woodwind players? (NHS is free as I am a student), Or perhaps a private dentist that has worked on woodwind players? If anyone can recommend a source of funding to students or musicians for private health/dental care, also, please get in touch. Many thanks!!! Kind regards C x

Honestly, if you get a good dentist it won't matter. I have had lots and lots of work done on my teeth in high school while playing the saxophone. My dentist, orthodontist, and surgeons were all very considerate of my music. They gave me special pain killers and did special stitching so I could get back to playing as quickly as possible. I'm sure many dentists have worked on woodwind players before, but I'm not sure if there really are specific dentists for that which aren't private.
