What's the best way to get an acting agent?? ?

• I'm 13 years old, with little to no acting experience. I'm about to start acting lessons but when i do want to get an agent, how do i do so? I've heard that if they see you preform and like you, they will call to see if you would be their client, but are there other ways?

  Well, first of all, ask yourself, "Do I really need/want an agent?" All they do is find you auditions. At such a young age, you might be better off without one. If you DO decide an agent is the right way to go, there are a few things you should know. The myth of being "discovered," is just that, a myth. It HAS happened before, but probably less times than you have fingers. If you're looking for an agent, research agencies in your area. Look for a respectable practice that offers service to minors in whatever industry (television, theatre, movies) you hope to pursue. NEVER pay money to join an agency. Any institution who asks for your money is a scam.
