How To Play Somewhere Only We Know?

Learning how to play the guitar, but don't know how to play 8/triplets?

• Otherwise known as the shuffle rhythm according to the book I’m using. I know how to play the rhythm for the guitar from whole note to simple 8ths. Whole = 1 strum for 4 beats. Half = 2 strums for 4 beats. Quarter= 4 strums for 4 beats. Eighths= 4 down and 4 up strokes for 4 beats. Otherwise one (down) and (up) 2 (down) and (up) three (down) and (up) four (down) and (up), yet how the hell do I play the eighth note triplets (the shuffle rhythm)? I hope my question makes sense.

  This is one of the reasons you should get some lessons. If you hear somebody play it against a metronome it will be easier for you to pick up. Its easy to make things more complicated than they are, but hearing it will make it easier. Theres also alot of good sites on the net that have video, try guitar player magazines site, and just look around.
