What are some funny commercial ideas?

My friend and i are performing "What is this Feeling"(Loathing) from Wicked for talent show.Any funny ideas?:)?

  • HI!! :) so my friend and i love Wicked, and there's this talent show coming up, so we wanted to do a funny duet. So we decided on the song "What is this Feeling"(Loathing) from the musical Wicked. I'm going to be Elphaba and she's going to be Galinda. Any funny ideas? We're going to act it out and make it really funny, but we want some ideas. THANKS!! :)

    First and foremost, if you are performing this as a standalone piece. You should change some of the lyrics. When a song from a show is performed out of context, it is best to remove all references from the show itself. For example. "Dear Galinda you are just so good" should have the character name removed. While logic will tell you that almost everyone is familiar with the characters, you really don't want to force yourself into a corner by using the names. In an actual show the names are there because the characters are established prior to the song. But when standalone, the song has to be telling their story.

When singing, use props like.... The letters. Purses, when there is a part where you aren't doing much make her like hold a mirror out to show you that your green or something. (If you paint your face)

That's going to be REALLY funny. If i were your friend would i would try to do a lot of kicking such as Annaleigh Ashford did when she played Galinda. And it's hilarious when they both say "Every little trait however small" Elphaba sometimes mimics Galinda such as stabbing her foot into the stage as if she is mimicking Galinda's kicking.Look up some videos of Annaleigh Ashford and Dee Roisicili sing what is this feeling.

i remember in one video i saw where elphaba goes your voice (for your face, your voice, your clothing ETC) idina imitated glindas voice and made her voice all high pitched and squeaky. you should watch some videos of people preforming it to get ideas.

I always think it funny when people perform in the nude. It displays confidence and humor. I believe that there are parts in this song that are nearly spoken? If there are, use funny, witchy, shrill voices. That could be funny.
