How do I stop a scratchy violin?

How do I convince my mom to stop sending me to violin lessons?

  • My mom keeps sending me to violin lessons because we're Asian (stereotype FTW) she says it's because she put a lot of money into it ( I think it's because her friends are sending their children to it who have different teachers. My violin teacher is horrible at teaching and most of her students have quit her class(haha) and the remaining two are me and this girl who are being forced to come. FOrthe past 5 months I've been going the teacher has been making me doing bow holds and playing straight. I haven't played ONE song even after buying a book she told me to get. How do I convince my mom to stops sending me to lessons?!

  • Answer:

Sounds like its not that you should stop taking lessons -- more like you have a horrible teacher and you need to quit taking lessons FROM HER. Tell your mom you're not learning anything at your lessons and you need a better teacher. Ask her to ask her friends who their kids take lessons from, and see if you can get in with that teacher and ditch your current one. I think you'll be much happier.

Other answers

A bad music reacher can easily make most students want to quit or look for another teacher. If you want to really learn the violin then tell your mom you want a different teacher. Otherwise tell your mom you don't want to learn the violin.

Just tell her you don't like it and you would perfer a diffrent hobby
