Does anyone know any very good books?

  • My friend is going travelling soon and she loves reading. Can anyone recommend any very good books or any really funny books I could get her. Can u also let me know the author and a rough description of what the books about. Thanks a lot for your help :)

  • Answer:

flowers in the attic by virginia andrews- its based on a true story about four siblings being locked in an attic for years by their grandmother, one of the children dies in there- its all so their mother can inherit a fortune from her father. Theres four books in total, its a real page turner, she won't be able to put it down if your looking for a good comedy try Peter Kays autobiography

The Magus. The best book I've ever read.

I think the Amish mysteries by Tamar Myers are absolutely hilarious. The titles are all food puns, like "Assault and Pepper" or "Hand that rocks the ladle". They take place in Amish country and the detective is a Mennonite innkeeper named Magdalena Yoder. Make sure you read the books in order, since what happens in one book may impact another book (i.e. a character may be killed off).

Lepke

Get her as many of the 'Fizz and Buchanan' murder mysteries as you can find. They are hilariously funny with really interesting plots and brilliant characters. Absolutely tops for holiday reading - she'll bless you. Any bookseller will know them.

This is a suspense novel that keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is also informative and compassionate in its story of a leper island in Greece. Do not be put off by the subject. It's a great, uplifting book.
