What are possible career options with a degree in Art History?

Sounds to me like you took the easy way to a degree and now need to go back to school and get a REAL education. Sorry just my opinion.

Professor/teacher, art gallery owner, librarian, to name a few.

Assistant Manager at Burger King. Doody-scooper on the city's summer part-time crew. Night Clerk at the Sundowner Motel. ... you get the hint. Unless you are going to enter the scintillating field of Art Education, or own your own gallery, isn't a degree in Art History rather useless?

I think art history is a great major and many, many factors other than just your college major impact your success in life! As far as an advanced degrees, I would say take some time off, bounce around and live a bit before taking a bite out of that. Do you have a BA or just considering majors? If you don't have a BA, I would say apply yourself at any major and graduate in 4 years! If you have a BA, I'd go to graduate school in art only if someone else was paying for it, i.e scholarships and grants. Otherwise, the graduate degree alone probably won't help you get a job any better than the BA... unless your graduate degree is from a top top school. Just my opinion. I'm not sure if you have considered law schools, but they have no problem with art history majors. Just get a high score on your LSAT. What did you get on the analytical part of the GRE? It is similar to the type of questions found on the LSAT. By the way, I would appreciate your answer to my question: What's the best period of western fine art/painting in your opinion and why?
