History of the Notre Dame Cathedral.

Notre Dame history project........help please?

  • Hey, I have to complete a history project on the Notre dame of Paris and sadley I hardly know anything about it!!! I need to know info like: when it was built? Who built it? Why is it important? and just some random funny facts that most people would not already know. I would really appreciate links to good websites or just any other detailed information that anyone has. Thank you!

  • Answer:

Go to the library. First, look in a real encyclopedia -- one written by actual experts, not the Wiki-wacky thing online that's written by ignorant amateurs -- and read a brief article about the cathedral there. And maybe some articles about architecture of that era as well. Then look for books about Notre Dame; there are quite a few, written by experts on the topic, and your library must have at least some; if not, at least a tourist guide to Paris will give you some of this information. Your school has obviously failed you in not teaching you how to find information; gloobling for "websites" and asking random yahoos on Yahoo is not how you do it. Go to the library. If you get stuck, ask a librarian for help; that's their job, and they are trained experts in finding information for people.

It is called a project because you are supposed to learn something. Research isn't painful and can be quite fun once you get into it. The history of the Notre Dame cathedral is pretty friggin spectacular as is that of paris and the catholic church. try using your noggin for once and DO YOUR HOMEWORK
