    It is a spring of water still coming out of the ground since hundreds of years. Prophet Ibrahim was travelling with his family through a vast desert and he was commanded by Allah (SWT) to leave them there and continue further himself to another location. Thus he left behind him his wife Hajra and son Prophet Ismail, who was only a child then. The desert was hot and burning and soon it happened that Prophet Ismail started crying out of thirst. His mother, Hajra, couldn't find a drop of water in the barren land and she kept running between two low hills (now called Safa and Marwa) seven times to find something to quench her son's thirst. Suddenly, a jet of water gushed out from the place where Prophet Ismail was rubbing his legs on the ground out of frustration. That spring of water was named ZamZam by Hajra and it still flows to date. The ZamZam has a distinct, sweet taste, unlike the normal water that we drink and Muslims all over the world go to Makkah to drink it as it is a cure for all diseases and makes a Muslim 'pure' from inside.

Zamzam water is an absolutely pure water and it's source is in Mecca, in the east of Kaaba. Muslims believe that this water is holy and drinking it will cure you in every way. For more detailed, historical and religious information try: www.wikipedia.com

it's holy water comes from a spot in KSA. it's holy for Muslims for it's famous story. where Ibrahim talked to his mother "he was a baby at that time" and hit the ground with his foot to make the water comes out! it's a well known story for all Muslims where they all bring some of this water when they have the chance to do the annual pilgrimage to Makka... that's all.
