Trade Calvin Johnson?

Chris Johnson and Reggie Wayne for Calvin Johnson. Your thoughts on this trade?

  • I am being offered Chris Johnson and Reggie Wayne for Calvin Johnson. Me and the guy talked and I am gonna sit on it until after week 3 is over. Calvin Johnson is beyond a stud so far and is about to go off for a monstrous year, but on the other hand I will be receiving Chris Johnson, who we all know has the potential to be a top 3 or top 5 fantasy player and Reggie Wayne is still Reggie Wayne IMO and thru 2 weeks is still playing at a high level ( 11 catches 172 yards 1 TD with Kerry Collins nonetheless. Yes I know Wayne's numbers most likely will drop off a little this year, but remember fellas he is still Reggie Wayne... Heres my team to help you guys in determining whats the best option for me. thanks in advnace QB- Mike Vick RB- Lesean McCoy RB- Legarrett Blount WR- Calvin Johnson WR- Dwayne Bowe Flex- Jeremy Maclin or Shonn Greene TE- Rob Gronkowski D/ST- Titans. I ussualy shop the waiver wire and play match ups for defense K- Sebastian Janikowski Bench- QB- Matt Hasselbeck RB- Marshawn Lynch RB- Dexter McCluster WR- Chad OchoCinco TE- Scott Chandler This is a 10-Team League

  • Answer:

There's quite a few waiver WR's that have tremendous upside. Nearly zero RB's. I would jump at the chance for a premiere RB over a premiere WR. Thats why elite RB's all go 1st round. 14 RB's and 5 QB's were picked in my league's draft before the 1st WR Andre Johnson. (10man league) He is trading you Wayne as tho he's a slouch. What a steal in my opinion. Good luck which ever way you decide.

do it because your getting two starters, cris johnson can replace blount or one of your flex options. and Reggie wayne will replace calvin as a starting Wr. so in my opinion it's fair

If you trade Johnson you will be weak on WR. Bowe isnt doing anything this year. i love maclin tho Wayne is ok but wothout Manning you are stuck. Calvin Johnson WILL be the #1 WR this year in fantasy. you have a great RB pair. if you get CJ2k u would move him to RB2 and Blount to Flex. Start Maclin & Wayne? Personally I wouldnt do it. Does he have another WR? maybe that you would want? its not an awful trade but again can CJ bounce back? i hope so. Good Luck

I guess the trade is okay for you. Chris Johnson will probably show up soon. You can make the trade, but then you should try to get something out of Dwayne Bowe. I don't like his numbers thus far and the Chiefs are just a terrible team and he is basically their only weapon. Defenses will target in on Bowe and I don't think he has a good rest of the year. Also, get a kicker who plays for a great team. A team that will get some touchdowns and in FG position. I'd trade Jani for Folk maybe. Looks like a good team though.

You made a good move waiting a week I would closely watch CJ greene and Blount this week blunt has had a terrible week ans a good week so far greene too if they don't keep improving pull the trigger on the deal Megatron is better than Wayne but the difference between them is out done by the improvement in your #2 RB if they continue to slide and johnson improves if I had to decide this second I say yes. The colts are my favorite team so I love Wayne if manning comes back his value doubles but if he doesn't the colts will be behind every game and forced to throw so either way helps

This is a tough call. Assuming that you straight replace Calvin Johnson with Wayne, I think you are giving up 5-7 points a week. If you keep Maclin as your flex, then Chris Johnson replaces Blount. Based on Blount's current production, i think you are looking at 7-9 points a week gained, assuming CJ gets back to form. Net positive to you, but I think Blount's numbers improve. I would probably not trade, but that's because I believe in Blount this year. Incidentally, my analysis is based on my league's scoring rules. Your league may be very different and that could change my opinion.

Do it. Look at your lineup if you do it. Vick McCoy Chris Johnson Wayne Maclin Blount as your flex. I always like starting 3 RBs in you're line up...especially when 2 of the three are studs and the third is a very very good number 2. Yes you are losing CJ who is probably going to be a top 3 WR this year but you can afford to do it. Look at how Maclin went off last week. The defense is going to key in on Desean Jackson and Mike Vick leaving Maclin in single coverage. Look at how Shady has been doing because of all the attention Vick and Jackson get. Chances are Wayne and Chris Johnson will outscore CJ every week. Get Chris Johnson, he has a favorable schedule

I have Calvin Johnson on my team and if I were offered this trade, I would say no. Chris Johnson is not where he needs to be right now. I do not make trades based on potential or hopes maybe he will get it together eventually. Calvin Johnson is STUD now and will always be STUD unless he tears an acl or something like that. If you pull the trigger, you are losing out. Reggie Wayne, are u kiddng me? Wayne is great but Colts are a mess. No qb and no running game. I can search the waiver wire and find several recievers that I would play before I played Reggie Wayne. You are fine at the running back position! Let Calvin Johnson carry you!!!!!!!!!

I would do it.. CJ is gonna explode soon... Reggie is still getting good points... Can you answer my question? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20110924091234AAyaO48
