What is the greatest tennis match ever played?

    Federer-Nadal, Wimbledon Final last year. Just because Federer made two errors in his last service game doesn't make the match less than it really was. The tennis was absolutely awesome, as far as I can imagine the most tense match ever. Also because of the rivalry between the two. besides, Goran hit a bunch of double faults in his last service game against Pat Rafter back then, although I do admit that it was really nice to see him win Wimbledon. I also loved the finals that Guga Kuerten played at Roland Garros. In my opinion the best tennis is played there, because the rallies are longer, and drop shots and lobs occur more often. Aces don't decide the winner on clay.

Nadal/Federer match at Wimbledon!!

2001 Wimbledon final where Goran Ivanisevic beat Patrick Rafter 11-9 in the fifth. I don't understand why people mention the nadal/federer wimbledon final. It really wasn't that great of a match, in terms of tennis quality. Federer made 2 consecutive errors into the net allowing Nadal to serve it out at 8-7, so it wasn't spectacular tennis that ended the tournament. It could have gone either way really.

So we all agree.... Nadal/ Fed Wimbledon final '08, hands down! 2001 Wimbledon final where Goran Ivanisevic beat Patrick Rafter 11-9 in the fifth was also a great match but nothing like that 'epic' wimbledon final!!

I've been watching tennis since Jimmy Connors played. There were a couple of incredible matches with Connors at the US open. What year was that? I don't remember. When he beat Eric Krickstien? And I also saw an incredible five set match between Nadal and Coria on the Tennis Channel the other day; a tape from a couple of years ago. But I think last year's Nadal/Federer Wimbledon final takes the prize. My only regret is Roger losing, although I love Rafa, I cried along side of Roger on that one!

uhm... matches on virtua tennis 2009 .. cause if u put on hard (difficulty) its like playing against 10000 tennis players cause when u hit a ball anywhere the opponent gets it back... haha ! well i guess NADAL/FEDERER wimbledon 2008..
