How to become a top сontributer?

What is a top contributor in yahoo answers? tell me how to become a top contributor?

  • how are the top contributors different from other users please also tell me all of the top contributors in tennis section

  • Answer:

Well i will answer this question in 4 parts cause actually you have asked 4 questions in one. 1- first you have to be at least level 2 its not possible to become a TC at level 1 cause u simply cant get enough points at level 1 . Second thing, a top contributor is a user in a section who selects a category or more than one, I have seen people having 3 TC's, its possible to get 4, also but not easy at all, then the TC;s also answer a lot of questions and maintain a best answer percentage of at least 10% or more in their section. But remember TC badge isnt permanent you have to answer questions regularly maintain a 10%+ percentage of best answer or you lose it. 2- Now coming to how you can become a TC, well its simple, as i mentioned you have to be level 2, you check all the open questions in the section where u want to be a TC, answer as many as u like, but remember also make sure you are answering questions where you can give a good answer because you would need a 10%+ best answer percentage to get the TC badge, once you get the badge just maintain both your participation and the percentage of best answers to retain the badge. In case you lose it for being inactive be active again repeat theformula i have told you and you will get the badge again. 3- Now coming to the 3rd part of your question, Well the difference i think comes in being active the top contributors are a lot more active because it is not a permanent thing you become inactive and you lose it so participation is key. Plus obviously maintaining a 10% + best answer percentage is key your percentage of best answers slip below 10% in a section and you lose the TC badge. 4- The Top Contributors in the Tennis section are 1- tennis_ken 2- anna 3- Sandy ♥ semi retired 4-J.A.V.V 5- global trotter 6- Mashal I dont think there is any body else at the moment who has this badge in the tennis section. If there is by any chance some 1 else then i dont know. so i would say there are 6 TC's in the tennis section right now.

It doesn't take much to get this badge. Yahoo hasn't revealed its formula, but I tested it out and created another account. I answered 55 questions over three weeks with a BA percentage of about 35% and got a badge as a level two user. Also be aware that just because you have an orange rectangle under your name, it doesn't mean you are an actual 'top' contributor. I see a lot of users who don't deserve these badges, so they have little meaning IMO.

Top contributors just spend a lot of time on YA Q&A. They amass a lot of points and they do so regularly. That is what determines a top contributor. It has little to do with the quality of answers or one's profound knowledge. You can look at the list of top contributors of any section. They are listed.

Basically, You DON'T HAVE A LIFE! You spend countless hours on Yahoo answers. The more answers you give, the more chances of getting the top answer.

Basically, you pick a category and just answer as many questions as you can in that category. I hear that a certain % has to be "best answers" but I think it's only like 10% which isn't that hard to do if you k now what you're talking about. Just don't pick a category like Polls & Surveys because there are no TC badges in that category. I'll give you a tip for getting enough answers to make it in one week. Answer a very common question. For example, they ask "How do you become a top contributor?" a LOT in this category "Yahoo Answers." I just answered a question almost exactly like yours. I then do a search using the "Search for questions" box at the top of the page (click "Advanced" so you can tell it to ONLY search for "open questions" so you can answer them) and use the exact same answer for ALL the questions currently open asking the same thing. There's like a dozen questions right now asking "How you become a top contributor on this site?" so I'll answer all 12 with the same answer in just a few minutes and, voila! It took little effort. That's what I've seen other TC's do. It works to cut and paste. Some people may criticize you for it but, hey, whatever floats your boat.

A Top Contributor is a member of the Answers community who has shown that they are knowledgeable in a particular category. Each Answers user can be a top contributor in up to three categories. The top contributor badge is dynamic —you earn it or lose it depending on your recent participation in a particular category. The more actively you contribute, the more likely you will earn a badge. Just like featured users or category leaders, it's another way to feature community members who might otherwise be overlooked. :)

I don't think they ever said exactly how many best answers you need in a category to be a "top contributor." I suspect it varies from category to category depending on how popular the category is. Just pick a category that you're good in and answer A LOT of questions in that category and you, too, can be a "top contributor." Don’t believe people when they say “just answer 50 answers in 30 days” or stuff like that. Yahoo keeps it deliberately vague so they never promised an exact figure to anyone. It may, as I said, vary from category to category. However, I have a rough idea of how long it takes to become a top contributor because a friend of mine made it after she answered all her questions in only one (1) category for a month in order to earn that badge. She doesn’t log on as often as I do so that only amounted to about 85 answers but she made it. She had a 30% “best answer rating.” It’s been said somewhere here on Yahoo that you need at least 10% of those answers to be “best answers.” It may take weeks of answering a lot in a category so be patient, Rome wasn't built in a day. While I made it to “Top Contributor” in two weeks of answering regularly in certain categories, I do log on every single day. It’s harder to make it to Top Contributor if you only log in now and then or, when you log in, you don’t answer a ton of questions. Just remember, concentrate your energies on ONE sub-category. Don’t answer all categories say, in Health, but concentrate on Alternative Health or Women’s Health or Men’s Health or Diet and Fitness. PICK ONE SPECIFIC CATEGORY AND STICK WITH IT! The biggest mistake most people make is they spread themselves too thin. Also, don’t bother trying to get a badge in Polls & Surveys or in Jokes & Riddles because there are no TC’s in either of those categories.

That's funny u asked that. I just became a top contributer 3 answers ago. Funny as hell casuse I haven't answered that many questions yet. I'm only level 4. I have one in football but I answer questions in everything. I guess they like the way I look. I would give it to you if I could cause I don't really want it. People might think I know what I'm talkin about. But I am good at pickin football teams to bet on so maybe that's it. Tennis.......I have no idea. I'l answer a couple questions in that category and probably get another orange bar

i believe its based on how much u are contributing and the percentage of best answers in a certain category.... i have had a top contributor badge a few times, in health and fitness and tennis, but it has come and gone.... i would like to get it back :)
