Which crystal case do you think is better?

Brady or Manning, can you make a case for the one you don't think is better?

  I feel that Brady is the better QB. The normal argument for Brady vs. Manning generally ends up as Rings vs Stats, respectively. That's a moot point now, as Brady has some stats over Manning, but I don't think those are the only qualifiers when considering the 2 QB's. Manning has had an all star cast of receivers around him and a team designed to let him throw the ball often, which helps to inflate those stats, but he does it well. Jordan and Kobe got/get the ball more than other players on their teams, but they shot better, which is why they got the ball. Manning is an accurate and powerful passer. He reads defenses well and is smart with the ball. It only makes sense to utilize him fully by allowing him to throw the ball often. His receivers are great, but as we've seen time and again, a great receiver is nothing without a QB to put the ball in his hands. Look at Moss in Oakland, TO in Buffalo, Welker in Miami, etc. Without a QB who can put the ball in their hands, stretch the field or read defenses, those guys were useless. Manning gets the ball to his receivers consistently. Short passes in tight coverage or long balls right over the head of the safety, it doesn't matter he gets the ball there. He hasn't had much of a running game to back him up (he got Addai a couple years ago, but even then he wasn't a premiere RB), so the offense has been Manning and his receivers. The Colts have an average defense, so the offense has been what wins them games. He gets the advantage of playing in a dome, but he's done well in the outdoor stadiums as well. He's taken advantage of his homefield, as any great athlete does. He didn't get to pick a dome, he just uses what he's got and he does it well. Is there any QB in the league who would turn down an advantage? Do you think Brady would say: "no don't throw that RTP flag, I don't want the 15 yds" or Favre would say "It's okay that he tackled my receiver before I even threw the ball, we don't want the yds"? A QB's job is to get his team down field, and if he's got elite receivers and a field that lends itself to the pass, he uses it. Manning does just that, and he does it well. In the end, it truly doesn't matter which one is better, because the fact that we get to watch them both is what makes it amazing. If it was just Brady or Manning dominating the league, no one would like him, he'd be a sports villian constantly beating up on your favorite team. With both of them, we get to pick sides and debate who's better. We get to watch a great match-up year after year, hoping that our favorite beats out the other guy. Great rivalries make for great sports entertainment.
