The Cubs supposedly have interest in Jim Edmonds. Do you think he has anything left in the tank, power wise.?
-
I don't. I think he would be much like Bobby Bonds when the Cubs had him.

Answer:
You never know, sometimes a change of scenery can do everything for a player. Edmonds is very comfortable at Wrigley playing a lot of games there as a member of the Cardinals. People said that Kenny Lofton had nothing left in the tank when he came over with Randall Simon and Aramis Ramirez, but he was a team leader, a great lead off hitter and a man that got our offense going in the Cubs playoff run of 2003. I think Edmonds can come in and fill in a significant spot for us with his left handed bat. Pie hasn't done much for us this year and maybe needs a little more time in the minors, so maybe this is a good thing for the Cubs. They can platoon Johnson (against lefties) and Edmonds (against righties) and probably have some good success with it. Bottom line here though is the Cubs only have 2 lefty bats off the bench with Ward and Fontenot. Not to mention you can grab Edmonds and use him while San Diego pays his salary.

Where in the hell would they play him?

Bad idea. Just platoon Pie & Johnson out there. You dont need Edmonds.

He might have a little bit, but he looks pretty washed up. Kinda unfortunate considering that he's been working out and all. And this is coming from a Cardinal fan... COME BACK JIMMY!

No...I think his career's over. He might hit 10 or 15 HR's if they got him...but its just not worth it...but he is about at the end of his career and I don't think it would help them much. The Cubs just have to keep doing what they're doing...they don't really need much help...they are a very good team.

Wow I didn't know that. That'd be kind of cool for him to go there. Then I'd get to see him more. But from watching him so much on the Cardinals, I think he's losing steam. He doesn't have much left in him. He wouldn't be much help for them.
