Albert. Your friend must be stupid.

Da Machine! The purest hitter we've seen since Tony Gwynn and before that Ted Williams. Pujols started his career with 30+ for nine seasons Lifetime .335 hitter. He started in his prime and he still is there. Gonzo has hit over 300 once.

Pujols is a much better hitter, He hits for a high average every year, Pujols lifetime avg. is .335, Gonzales is .280, Pujols has hit at least 31 hr's every year of his career, and batted at least .314, 100+ RBI's every year, he's on the way to one of the greatest hitting careers ever. nightnurse-What stat are you talking about? There is not one category Gonzales leads Pujols in. No it's not even close, Gonzales avgs. 28 hr's a year, Pujols has never hit less than 34, Gonzales has 495 K's in 3 1/2 years, Pujols has 540 in 9 1/2, What does their home/away stats prove? Gonzales is very good no doubt, But theres n one in the league as good as Pujols.

Really? There is no debate here. Pujols is the best player in MLB. The guy has a career batting ave. of .334. He has never had a year where he has hit less than 34 home runs -- that includes 37 in his rookie year. 8 of Gonzalez's 24 home runs this season have been hit at home (Petco), and he also bats .243 there -- that's not all that impressive. Tell your friend that stat.

N.J.

Gonzalez is good but nowhere near Pujols's level.

This questions shouldn't even been asked. Albert Pujols is by far. Gonzales is having some good years but does he have the Years Pujols has been putting up for the while he is in the MLB, No. So it is no doubt about it, Albert Pujols.

Ask your friend to pass the weed.

haha...your friend needs to learn how to read statistics _______________________________ Albert Pujols is consistent. That's what a ballplayer should be. Kudos for that. Batting Average: Pujols: .335 Adrian: .280 On-Base Percentage: Pujols: .427 Adrian: .357 Slugging Percentage: Pujols: .631 Adrian: .503 Runs Created per Game: Pujols: 10.00 Adrian: 6.3 AB per SO: Pujols: 9.0 Adrian: 4.6 Gonzalez has a decent glove but Pujols has a better one. Albert's fielding percentage is only .001 lower, but look at the numbers. When Adrian Gonzalez makes an error, 71% of the time, a runner will get on as a result. However, when Pujols makes an error, he's able to recover (only 59% of the runners get on). Pujols can also play outfield and third, and has played the middle infield. Adrian Gonzalez can play first, and well, that's pretty much it. He's played right once in his life. Pujols is more useful. Besides, Prince Albert has a very good arm for a first baseman (it's very accurate). Speed? Albert averages seven stolen bases per 162 games. Gonzalez? zero. Adrian has a single stolen base this year, with a 50% success rate. Pujols? Ten stolen bases with a 77% success rate. Power? Since when has it been all about homeruns? Anyways, each year, Pujols averages 44 doubles, 2 triples, 43 homeruns, 130 runs batted in, and 124 runs scored. Gonzalez averages 36 doubles, 2 triples, 32 homeruns, 98 runs batted in, and 94 runs scored. Clutch? Pujols is batting .323 in the postseason. Consistent? Are you kidding? Gonzalez is unreliable. He bats a mere .244 against southpaws, and isn't even .300 against righties. Pujols, however, is .344 against lefties and .331 against righties. Home ballpark? What a lame excuse. In away ballparks, Pujols averages .074 homeruns per at-bat. Gonzalez? Only .062. More clutch? Pujols bats .345 with RISP. Gonzalez is .291. Most of Adrian's homeruns come with nobody on. ______________________________ Okay. Pujols gets on base A LOT more, gets more hits, has a better arm, has a better glove, is a better hitter than Gonzalez at home, is a better hitter away, is faster, strikes out a lot less, is much more feared, is more durable and consistent, and is a very good clutch player. Hmmm....wait, who's better?

Connor

There are very few players in the history of Major League Baseball that are better than Albert Pujols and Adrian Gonzalez is certainly not one of them. Tell your friend he's an idiot and go get new friends.
