How long do you think human race will survive?

Do you think the human race will survive forever?

  • I was chatting with my mates about this. Does anyone think the human race will survive all known threats such as global warming, nuclear war, asteroids etc etc and eventually out live our own solar system or will we ultimately fail?

    I think there is an ending to to everything and by the way we abuse the planet why not. At first I thought wow! I don't want to die from anything we can change but the again people like you, your mates and I wish we had a wand to change things. We are more concern of Petty things and what about all the real stuff like Global Warming and Nuclear bombs that should not be happening but it is WE need to all see what's going on and make a CHANGE!

This isn't really a philosophy question, but.... No we will not. If you look at the history of life, the average species "lifespan" is about 5 million years. While we differentiate ourselves from earlier hominids(homo habilis, homo erectus, etc), it isn't 100% clear that we are actually a different species from them, or whether our variations are within parameters. (The "differences" between human and neanderthal DNA are based on very incomplete data.) It's possible then, that we are approaching the end of our run as a species....although our demise is likely a million years or so distant. It's possible that human intelligence will find ways to delay our demise, but I doubt it.

No. As the bible tells us, first the rapture will occur (when God's faithful people go to Heaven). 7 years following the rapture, the world will come to an end (known as the end days). Then the world will blow up in fire (basically). But threats such as global warming, nuclear war, asteroids, etc will just intensify the end days even more.

I don't really know the answer to this one. I would hope so. However, every species has become extinct by things beyond their control, so I doubt we'll outlive the Earth

n0p, or maybe yeah, but it doesnt matter bcuz were not only humans, were souls who will get smarter and more knowledgable we will become more than just humans maybe a new specie, or maybe somethn else in a nother world
