I wonder if the people delivering Collins software lost visibility of the source code. Would this be likely ?
-
For example the system is incorrectly "enhanced" resulting in some angles between 359.12 degrees and 360 degrees being "invalid" and crashing the software. On top of this there is paranoia about who is allowed to have visibility of the source code. What would have been previously thought of as a prerequisite to successful production of the system - that staff have visibility of the source code - no longer holds. An insufficient percentage of staff notice the problem and are outvoted at meetings.
