Is 8 cups for a calorimeter too much?

Is 8 cups for a calorimeter too much?

  • ok my "hard core science friend" is making a calorimeter out of foam cups and he is stacking 8 cups on ontop of the other and putting a hole inside each one accept for the last 4. Well, i think that is wont work becuase in the end the water will be in the bottom cup and be insulated by one 4 layers of foam not 8. i am suggesting to use 2 cups with no holes as foam is already a good insulator. which is more accurate/sensible?

  • Answer:

Well who ever ur "hard core science friend", i love him, because, if u look at it, ur suggested design has only 1 cup insulating, where as ur friends one has 3 cups to insulate it, hence the 3 cups insulate better than the 1 cup, kinda obvious a sped like me even understands. Moreover, pack of 25 cups costs like $1.50- $2, hence the opportunity cost is not much, so why would u not put in 8 cups?, and more over it is MUCH more efficient thank ur design as it has better insulation, furthermore, his design is more environmentally friendly as it releases less heat into the atmosphere hence, does not contribute to global warming and hence is better for the humans and the range of habitats and the ecosystems that exist in the earth. Due to this, i can successfully conclude that ur "hard core science friend" has got it right!, "hard core science friend" FTW! oh and YULLAH DOGGGGIEEESSSSS BRAH! ESHAYS! :)
