What is the temperature of fire?

What's the coldest Temperature Fire Burned at?

  • If the starting material IS cold (eg. You can make fire with ICE or combust it with solid Frozen Gasoline.) Is there such thing as a cold fire? (The lowest Temperature I burned fire at was 4°) Is there any elements that burn fire at bellow zero tempatures? (eg. A cold sun or a cold star?) Don't give me an answer like: ''I don't know?,'' just give me an answer PLEASE. Is isn't a Blog/Forum.

  • Answer:

The temperature of the fire will depend on the substance burning, not the temperature of the surroundings. For example, if you are in a hot desert abd butn a piece of typing paper, the temperature of the burning paper is 512 F If you are in Antartica and burn the same paper, the temperature of the burning paper is still 512 F I once was in a class where we heated styrofoam in a closed can with a hole in it. A gas started to come out, and we ignited the gas. W could out our finger in the flame without getting burned, because the flame was cooler than the flash point of flesh. That was a "cold fire"!
