What are the hybrid orbitals of CO2?

Identify the limiting reagent and the volume of CO2 formed when 11L Cs2 reacts with 18L O2 to produce CO2 gas?

  • Identify the limiting reagent and the volume of CO2 formed when 11L Cs2 reacts with 18L O2 to produce CO2 gas? and SO2 gas at STP. CS2 (g) + 3O2(g)---->CO2(g) +2SO2(g) A.) o2; 6.0 L Co2 B.)CS2; 11 L CO2 C.) CS2; 5.5 L CO2 D.) O2; 27 L CO2

  • Answer:

    This question has been ignored by the community as it contains a bad error. CS2 is NOT a gas at stp but a liquid!! It boils at 46 C. So the whole problem is based ion something that isn't true! [see http://www.inchem.org/documents/icsc/icsc/eics0022.htm for data] If it were true, using Avogadro 1vol of CS2 reacts with 3 vol O2 so 11 litres of CS2 requires 33L O2 You don't have that much O2 so O2 is the limiting reagent and 6L CO2 will form. Whoever your chemistry teacher is, this is a STUPID way to teach chemistry with made up problems based on INCORRECT assumptions. Not your fault you are being taught by someone who doesn't appear to know their chemistry!!! No wonder so many students on Yahoo Answers are "so confused".
