Why is it important to stay in good cardiovascular shape?

What would be some good ways to stay in shape if I were to stop working out (which was to gain weight)?

  • Now here is a scenario for you and please answer it for me: I am currently working out in hopes of gaining a LOT more weight mainly in terms of muscle. Now eventually I am going to say to myself, "Ya know?? I look pretty good the way I am when it comes to my body and I feel that maybe I don't need to gain any more muscle from working out, maybe I can just move on with my life but try to find a way to stay in good shape (in terms of body) that I am currrently in right now." That is most likely what I am going to say in the future some time. But here is the thing, if I did say that, I can't just STOP working out altogether because I will eventually lose that muscle and weight as a result if I were to stop, but at the same time, I am not really trying to gain any more muscle weight, so how could stay in good shape but at the same time not gain any more muscle because I don't about you but i don't wanna look like JACKED like an Arnold or Sly wanna be ya know? Just at least look average at best. Obviously i am going to gain weight over the years from eating and stuff like that, so I don't wanna gain too much weight from working out because I still will be gaining from eating foods over time. What if, when I decide not to gain any more muscle, I just limited the amount of times I worked out so I won't really gain any weight from that, or better yet, would running/jogging and stuff like that keep me in good shape? Now I wouldn't wanna lose weight, so keep that in mind. It may sound a little weird that I don't wanna looked COMPLETELY jacked with alot of muscle and that I still wanna gain a little bit of weight over time from eating foods (not ALOT of food so I'll become obese, but you get idea right), but I have my reasons. So, how would be able to stay in good shape without gaining any more muscle, without losing weight, and at the same time let me gain some more weight over time from mostly eating foods and stuff like that? I hope it is not too hard for you to understand and I hope there is a solution to my question.

  • Answer:

Cardio that works more of your body is a good option. Try swimming or use a rowing machine. Most gyms have a rowing machine, ask a trainer how to use one so you don't throw out your back.
