I see other answers below but being a dreamer I'll take a shot... 1.an energy process that will not require the internal combustion engine for autos. 2. Home electrical generation that is inverted and used as a lighting source for most homes. Which will not include wind or photovoltaic. 3. Water reclamation in excess of 45% at the city level. Digesters will be invented that will create near potable water through bacterial inversion. 4. Plastic and silicon will be converted into a newer material which give a higher compression/tension strength to thousand of items .Including packaging ,automobile industy and aerospace exploration. 5. Diversification of the now existing OIL companies into Conservation Companies that will honor families who conserve energy and be regulators of energy supply stations. 6. Computers will be completely replaced by Speech Processed Organization(SPO) where random association of words will be analyed to form a logical answer. Without the CPU .Co-processing time will be aloted everyone via satelite distribution and their own private voice actuator. 7. Concrete will be re-enforced with the polymer bonds of lecithin and silcon dioxide 8. daylight savings time will not be required as science will have perfected the IF multiviewer and electric lighting will be reduced to shades of blue to red. 9.Homes and residential areas will have become two layered with the seperation from earth and sky by magnetic levitation with a less than supercooled liquid. 10. Faster that sound with zero shock wave will be common practice . The speed reached will be above the ionsphere and out of range of the air required to produce the shock in horizontal flight. Time to travel to Paris to New York 40minutes...... 20 up 20 down. 11. Until air scrubbing is invented by an oil company which will charge for cleaning up their own mess. 15. Populations will rise in all the world to a level were timber fuel resourses are the lowest a bureau of world standards for population growth will be established and otrage will be felt at all levels of society. 16. The value of your home right now will not be able to be calculated as most homes are not built for a fifty year life but the land will be worth 100 times what it is now. 17. The federal government will take over the job of disposing of the dead as there will be only land in dry , arid regions of new mexico and arizona .Your plot will be decided by your birthdate ... 18. Husbands and wives will have to work with no question but the minimum bringhome will be in excess of 120,000 ...this will include the food alotment provided by the government for staples (sugar ,salt, wheatflour). 19. Farmers will have to grow twice the crops on half the land ,they will do this based on genitically engineered types of plants . Corn and sweet potatoes will be raised at the same time . Machines that harvest the taller crop will till fertilize and water the lower. Later on harvesting it as is passes by. 20. The staple crop of cotton will become the old way to plant as cotton is to land weiry... production lays off for several season and looses favor with mills in the US to pure synthetic.
