What will be the thickness of super conductor plate required to arrest the magnetic field,if high power magnet?
-
i have a high power magnet(single).i placed one super conductorin (plate shape)near the magnet.now i don't want to pass the magnetic power through the super conductor.what will be the thickness of super conductor required.or number of plates to become a thick plate.

Answer:
if the super conductor can withstand a magnetic field the thickness of the super-conductor can be very thin. However, many superconductors can only reject a sufficiently weak magnetic field and no shielding will result if the magnet is too close to the shield.
