  • Answer:

I think this is a really good website to explain the biblical context of the feet washing in the Bible :: http://www.ebibleteacher.com/children/lessons/washfeet.htm (it explains Jesus' lesson and meaning in it) It is uncertain whether this scene is actually meant to show a Biblical reference but people often associate that part of Death Note tothat part of the Bible that refers to Jesus washing the feet of Peter. It is also linked to betrayal, when Jesus was betrayed by Peter, similarly the parallel exists that Light is about to betray L and kill him. I also found some other references a while ago which I saved which I thought were quite interesting. http://community.livejournal.com/death_eyes/533494.html http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/ptitlebqmxtrir9bav?from=Main.WhatDoYouMeanItsNotSymbolic I hope this helps :D
