Why won't my dad let me play computer games?

  • I don't have any computer games but i have imvu,(but its rlyy boring) I dont go on internet to find a game I usually go and listen to music.But this is getting boring. Sims 3 came out and my neighbor got them right away,(she always gets what she wants) but if I asked my dad he would say" your too old, games are dumb only idiots play them!" look who is talkin! He played computer games himself, when I was younger he would play race cars or war games all the time! But now when I'm almost turning 15 he doesn't let me do anything except studing!I mean is it wrong for a girl my age be playing sims 3? If not how to convince my dad to burn the cd from my neighbor and install the game? I always come over to my neighbor who is 4 years younger than me, and I always have to watch her play.Sometimes I just feel that her parents love her soo much that they let her do anything while mine only care about money,(i know its a time where everyone is trying to save up money, but my dad has been like this since he first started this family.)

    Well .. do you spend a lot of time with your dad ?? Maybe he thinks that if you get a game, play it alot, you might not spend a lot of time with him anymore. You need some fun with your life ( umm .. I'm not saying your life is boring or anything xD lol ) You could tell him that you would only play the game on some certain times. Like .. for 2 hrs. then go back to studying :(( is it only the Sims 3 he won't let you play ?? if it is then maybe because there are some mature themes in the game .. but I play it all the time -_- and I'm 3 yrs. younger than you .. If you had your own Sims 3, then you wouldn't bother your neighbor that much ( but, don't stop visiting your neighbor ^^ ) grr . If I was in your position .. I would be sooo sad :( it's not fair. Maybe you should tell your dad how you feel not letting you play comp. games .. Sorry this is the only advice I could give you T^T I hope your dad let's you play them soon :)

To me is sounds like your dad doesn't like the whole idea of a girl gamer in the house. And there is nothing wrong with a 15 year old playings sims, hell my mum is 40 and bought it the day it came out. Games have also been proven to be quite healthy for the mind as they can imrpove reaction time and general intellegence though obviously too much can be bad for your health. Your best bet is to try get a part time job or something if you can and save up for the games you want as there is nothing he can do to stop you if you save up your hard earned money to buy games.

i think why because like in some game like gta san andreas and spider man like this things i think that in so many cases some student they tried guns and some times fallen from their terrace so thinks you will do that things

Your Dad loves you and I guarantee you will thank him later! Now at 15 you are in high school ,college a blink or two away. Your friends parents that let her do anything because they love her so much is not "LOVE". I child growing up needs two parents not two best buddies or friends. I don't know your exact situation so I can't accurately comment on your situation. My twin brothers and I grew up in a household where money was tight ,no video games and just last week we had a conversation that we wouldn't give up our childhood for anything. I look at my nephew, the kid has every video system ever made , he can't ride a bike, roller skate, play stick ball build or make anything and is overweight do to his inactivity. Look at all the things you do have ,even make a list and by the end of the day thank GOD ! I watch kids play video games all the time most never blink and go into a trance some even get all worked up because they never made it to the next level.
