Which Sims 2 expansion is the best/most fun?

I was wondering which Sims 2 game is the "funnest"!?

  • I heard that Sims 2 Pets is really fun but slows down your computer, is that true? I have an xp computer, and I don't know what games will have weird effects on it. Is Sims 2 Nightlife the one where there are cars, and is it fun? What about Sims 2 Academy? Is Sims 2 Lost out yet? Also, I have another question. My Sims 2 Celebration expansion pack game isn't working right. (I installed it a couple of months after I installed the Sims 2 Business). I load the disc and then whenever I try to click on a family I made to move into their house, or click on a house with a family in it, it says Loading the " " family like it's supposed to, but then, in the middle, the music stutters and then a popup says "An error has occurred and the application has quit unexpectedly, then the music keeps playing, but nothing happens. What is going on???????!!!!!!!!!!!

    Nightlife is the one that has cars As far as which are more fun to play that would depend on what YOU like to do with your Sims Some like having pets some like having business Personally I like Seasons and Bon Voyage the best. As far as slowing your game that does not go by the EP itself that happens depending on YOUR computer and how many EPs you have and IF you have added any custom downloads The more AEP's you have the slower it can get If your computer is not that great. The more custom downloads you add the more it slows as well You do not tell us anything about your computer system info so it is impossible to say what would run well and what would not. What EP's or stuff packs do you have on it now? Do you have any custom downloads installed? More info regarding these questions can help in answering slow down questions. As far as your crashing to desktop issue this can be caused by a bad download have you installed anything into the game like houses, Sims, custom things of any kind? if so go into My documents and cut and paste the Downloads folder to desktop now enter the game and go into a neighborhood and house you do not usually play and see if you can play without crashing If so than it is because you have a bad download only way to work that out is to one scan it with Clean Installer then add back in your downloads a little at a time to test until you find the one giving a issue DO NOT REINSTALL You do not have to do that You can RESET the game by deleting the Sims 2 folder my documents/EAGAMES/Sims 2 BE AWARE this will LOSE all your work It is easier though than reinstalling More help for crashing can be found here http://sumomo.modthesims2.com/wiki.php?title=Game_Help If you need mroe help feel free to email through profile

Personally, I think the game overall is fun, and the eps just add to the "funness" (I guess I'm making up words now). As to you technical problem, you might want to go onto www.thesims2.com and see if there are any patches that you need to download, that would probably help. It might also be that your graphic card can't handle the game anymore. You might also want to try re-installing all of your games. Hope I helped, -Katie

TS2 Seasons & TS2 BonVoyage are the BEST! OFB is cool too because you can earn money while sitting at home. As for Seasons & BonVoyage, they add much more reality to the game, not as the rest EPs.

The sims2 and the expansion packs will work fine and won't slow down your computer as long as your computer meets recommanded requirements. Also, try not to download too many custom items to the game; custom item tends to slow the loading time and sometimes it will even bug the game. Yes, Nightlife is the one with cars but theres nothing much to do with the cars actually. By mentioning Academy, i think you meant University. It's okay, fun at first(haha). Sims2 Lost is not a expansion pack for Sims2. It's a stand-alone game for which platform i didn't remember(sorry). I don't know if it's out yet either. By the way, celebration pack is not a expansion pack but a Add-On only. I believe it's not the celebration pack that is not working but you may have a bug from downloading a bad download therefore causing the crash on the loading part. You may need to uninstall the game and reinstall it over again but make sure you make back-up all of your families before you do so. If not, you may go to modthesims.com and download a cleanup(i don't remember what is it called). It should help you delete bugged custom items that are giving you problems while loading your game.

Yes, Sims 2 Nightlife is the one with cars. And it's fun, in my opinion. Sims 2 Academy? Do you mean University...? And I don't believe Sims 2 Lost is out yet.

Remember not to load the celebrations disc, but load the disc for the latest released ep you own. So if you own the base game and open for business, then use the open for business disc to play. There is no sim 2 lost, but sims 2 castaway franchise which has nothing to do with the sims 2 for pc. Nightlife and Seasons are probably the most fun and then bon voyage has little challenges in it that make it extra fun. Nightlife adds so much like dating and social outings with friends, chemistry and attraction, cars and turn ons/turnoffs. Also a whole new downtown area full of bowling alleys, restaurants nightclubs and shops. Watch out for the vampire! Seasons is really my favorite as it adds soooo much to gameplay. It adds weather and season related activities like wintertime snowball fights, making snowmen and winter is a great time for working on those family relationships. It also adds a new neighborhood called riverblossom hills. These are definetly the most fun eps.

NO Sims2 nightlife and Sims 2 pets are the best they do not slow down your computer, but sims 2 does!and alo if the game isn't playing:defragment you may have too much downloaded crap on there!lol good luck!

they are all so fun. i guess if i had to pick one it would be the university because the teens go to college.....after that i would get nightlife. and they dont slow down my computer but they are all different.

1) all sims games slow computers down, they take up a lot of memory on your computer so whatever you install will take up GBs. and i DEFINITELY vote on nightlife and/or university!! those are the BEST games ever! i have the pets one and thats still fun, but the other two beat it because all you do in sims pets is...have pets.. and they have babies and so on so forth..well its funner than that but the others are just overall funner. 2) try uninstalling (i know i know it sucks and takes awhile) and then REinstalling. your going to lose everything you've done so far but thats probably what you'd have to do to get it working properly. =D
