Is polycarbonate flexible?

Has anyone broken a polycarbonate bottle?

  • Polycarbonate bottles are a special plastic used to make bulletproof glass and water bottles, i.e Nalogen bottles at EMS. Polycarbonate bottles are dubbed "indestructable" and can withstand heats up to 523 degrees Kelvin according to www.ems.com. I was wondering, has anyone attempted to break one? If one was able to break the bottle, how did you do so? besides running it over with a car.

  • Answer:

I have seen a tv show where a person dropped a Nalgene bottle full-of water and an empty Nalgene bottle from 13 stories, and the empty one was perfectly fine, but the other one broke the cap on the way down.
