How can I accurately weigh my head?

How can you weigh your own head?

  • Always a good one to ask at a dinner party but I've never heard a good answer although displacing water often comes up; but isn't this volume . . .

  • Answer:

I already did this one!! The best answers all use Archimedes but this isn't satisfactory as this assumes a uniform density which of course ones head doesn't have. Still, hope you have better luck than me, I don't believe as yet that this is a solvable problem to any degree of accuracy.

Take a knife then remove your head. Place it on some scales Take the reading re-attach your head And as Jamie Oliver would say "wah lah!" PS please remove Jamie Olivers head!

ask a friend to cut it off for you and write the weight on tomb stone

put the kitchen scales on the floor, lay down with your head on the scales whilst usin a mirror to see the gauge!

I saw this done on Brainiac on TV. They just had people bend and place their head on some scales. Didn't look very accurate though.

Easy, weigh your whole body, then subtract what "your body minus your head" weighs. Subtract the second from the first and there's your answer... Oh wait, I've seen the flaw in my cunning plan...

again this question?! Are you a Yahoo! guy trying to make the site look live, or are you a computer program on a Yahoo! server generating questions based on already answered questions? anyway apart from weighing severed heads (which I'm sure must have been done though no one dares to mention it - I mean all those heads in the French revolution, all those heads during various Japanses wars, all those Nazi "doctors" who played games / tests with bodies and body parts), yes what people do is measure displaced water, assume density of body constant throughout, and multiply.

why do men have the weirdest ideas??? Didn't you ever see the movie "Jerry McGuire" ? A human head weighs 8 pounds

First of all you ask round a friend who has a bit of a knack at diy and a good hand with a butchery cleaver, it will be a bonus if they can supply there own `fine tooth` saw and clean apron..............
