My theory on why time travel is impossible?

  • Because if the future had already happened then I could go forward 10 minutes and find that I had made myself a cup of coffee, then go back ten minutes knowing about what had happened in the future and when the coffee time comes I would just start making a cup of coffee against my own will like wtf Likewise if I went into the past to stop my past self from getting robbed for example, and stood in my doorway with a gun to stop the burgular, then whats he gonna do? walk through me? Also if I went into the future and I saw a car crash and then went back to warn against it to the people involved, and took them to see the accident to prove it, and then when the time came they just automatically got into their car against their own will and they couldnt help it even when they knew they were gonna die hardly likely

It's a bit sci-fi what you're trying to say here, the things are a bit different, time travel is not happening just like that, 10 mins back and forth, or 1 year or so. The thing is, time travel is related with dimensions, so we can talk about traveling in time-dimension, which is something different.

What you're basically saying, is that you believe all time is pre-decided. Do you stand by this belief? If so, anything past, present or future is all pre-decided. Everything about you is leading to a definite future whether you like it or not. There's nothing you can do to influence it, you may as well just kill yourself? Alternatively, get a better theory ;)

hmmm.....if u travel with greater speed of light, u can go future view the events what already happened in the past. but it is not possible to look future events which are not happened yet. in simple way u can see yesterday once again in live but not tomorrow.

Time travel would actually possible if it was possible to travel at the speed of light. Of course, nothing with mass can travel at the speed of light but if it could, it would essentially be traveling at the speed of time itself. Also, I think there is some stuff about time, speed and relativity that I don't really want to go into because I'm not all that sure on it.

I believe an out of time existance would be akin to a "Virtual Existance". i.e. you could observe but not actually take part. Would be handy for the lottery though

That doesn't disprove Time travel, it just shows how to alter a time-line. If you went back in time and stopped yourself getting robbed, then you stopped yourself getting robbed... the problem is that it could dramatically affect the time-line causing untold effects you hadn't counted on. For example, you may stop the robber but then you could create an alternate time-line in which on the Way to the Police station to report it, you get run over.

Who says your going to have to make that cup of coffee? By going into the future and seeing that you did already do it in the future. But it then would be the past by going back into the present. But by knowing that you would be making that cup of coffee, you could prevent it by not doing it. We do everything according to our will, not the will of anything else. So that idea, I would say is flaw. I do believe in time travel, just not in the way you do. But I do not know for a fact. And I would love to be proved right, or wrong.
