I can't seem to figure this out. if you were in chile (32 degrees S, 71 degrees W) and you wanted to get to los angeles (34 degrees N, 118 degrees W) how many degrees of latitude and longitude would you have to travel to get to your destination? please indicate N,S,E,W

Answer:
you get the answer by counting: first think of South as negative, you are 32 S so count each 'degree as you move north to the equator , there are 32 of them and now you are at the equator you go 34 more to get to your desired latitude 32 plus 34 = 64 degrees to the north! Now going from east to west just count them starting from 71 W going to 118 W there are 47 degrees to the west, Subtract 71 from 118= 47
