How do you complete a Mendelian cross?

Mendelian monohybrid cross question?

  • In a Mendelian monohybrid cross involving two homozygous genotypes, the ______generation is always completely heterozygous. a. F1 b. F2 c. F3 d. P I don't have a clue! I am VERY bad at this part of the class!!

  • Answer:

It may not be your fault. If you have retyped this question exactly as your teacher has written it then it is a very poorly written question. A cross "involving two homozygous genotypes" is not a monohybrid cross! So, I am not sure what your teaching is asking, but probably he/she just wants to know which "generation is always completely heterozygous" after crossing two homozygous individuals. If that is the case, the answer is A.
