Describe what occurs during protein synthesis.

Use a short paragraph to describe the roles of DNA in the process of protein synthesis.?

  • Use a short paragraph to describe the roles of DNA, ribosomes, tRNA, amino acids, and peptide bonds in the process of protein synthesis.

  • Answer:

DNA is made up of a lot of genes that code for thousand of proteins. whenever the cell requires a protein to be synthesized, the double helix of the DNA opens up near the site where the gene is present. the gene is then translated into an mRNA. the mRNA then travels out of the nucleus into the endoplasmic reticulum ribosomes then bind to the mRNA to fecilitate the binding of the tRNA to the mRNA. the tRNAs carry with them the aminoacids. specific tRNAs carry specific amino acids, the anticodon of the tRNA recognizes and binds to the specific codons on the mRNA thus transcribing the mRNA with a specific amino acid sequence to five a polypeptide. the amino acids are joined (linked) by dipeptide bonds (-CO-NH-). this polypeptide is then post-translationally modified into the protein of interest in the golgi apparatus.
