A hiccup or hiccough (normally pronounced "HICK-up" IPA: /ˈhɪkəp/), also known as a condition of singulitis, is the spasmodic contraction of the diaphragm that repeats several times per minute. In humans, the abrupt rush of air into the lungs causes the epiglottis to close, creating the "hic" listen (help·info) noise. In medicine, it is known as synchronous diaphragmatic flutter (SDF), or singultus. So to give yourself a hiccup, you'd probably have to suddenly suck in alot of air, or a sudden gush of air to fill your lungs. i remember laughing (crazily as in alot, non stop) and trying to take in breaths of air would help as well.
