How to become a Nurse Practitioner?

How do you become a nurse practitioner?

  • after this semester i will have a bachelors in biology and want to be a nurse practitioner. i know i have to be an rn first. how long total will it take to be a nurse practitioner and what are all the tests you have to take in the process? thank you for any help!

  • Answer:

You are a nurse with extra qualifications in that position. My sister is a retired school nurse-practitioner, by the way. She had a 4-year nursing degree and a master's in education (taught at a local nursing school for a while) that may not be necessary and completed a 30 credit hour program leading to certification as a nurse-practitioner. Become an RN first, then back to school is the answer. Her back to school place was Crouse-Irving Hospital in Syracuse, NY.
