Is it bad to exercise with diarrhea?

Why do I get horrible menstrual-feeling cramps during exercise and then diarrhea after?

  • This didn't happen to me before, it's been happened for the past several days only. I love going on the ellipticle but about 10-12 minutes in, I get these horrible cramps in the lower abdomen (it feel like menstrual cramps, not a side stitch) and they become more and more pianful until I have to get off. Then I go to the bathroom and I get diarrhea. What's the matter with me? I'm not lactose intolerant (I don't even eat dairy) and I don't think I have IBS (Irritable Bowel Syndrome) as this only happens to me when I'm running or on the elliptical. Please help? I don't want top stop exercising!

  • Answer:

Try checking with a professional that teaches how to use this equipment as you may be doing this too long or too vigorous. You should also try to go to the bathroom (solid) before using this , you may be overworking the muscles in that area and then it affects this area to push any built up or existing residue there move forward to have to come out. If the pain subsides after going to bathroom you need to make sure you are cleaned out there before using this equipment it sounds like. That excercise is stimulating that area to make it come out like this now. Also, don't eat soon before going on this item. I find if I eat and SOON after go for a walk I have to RUN home to go to the bathroom as that stimulates my digestion quickly.
