What Is Implantation Bleeding?

What's the difference between implantation bleeding and breakthrough bleeding?

  • What's the difference between implantation bleeding and breakthrough bleeding???? when does breakthrough bleeding happen and implantation bleeding happen?

  • Answer:

Breakthrough bleeding is a kind of spotting -- bleeding between periods. Some people who are on the pill experience it. It's especially likely to happen if you skip the week of placebo pills and start a new pack so that you can skip your period. Implantation bleeding can happen when you get pregnant. When the sperm burrows into the lining of the uterus, it can cause spotting for some women (twenty to thirty percent, apparently). How do you tell the difference between these two? It depends on the time period. If it's the week after ovulation, it's likely to be implantation bleeding. (Note: if you are on the pill, you are not ovulating) If it's just before your period should be starting, it may or may not be implantation bleeding, so in that case, you just have to wait and see. Hope that helps!
