How are ovarian cysts treated?

Ovarian cysts and yeast infections need help?

  • Ok I get lots of yeast infections and ovarian cysts I was just treated for 6 months with diflucan a week after i finished the 6 month treatment I got another infection well its a week after that treatment and i have another one Im very frustrated because with all these infections and in between I keep getting ovarian cysts not little ones either huge ones the smallest so far has been 5cm they are painful and yeast infections are a pain. I'm wondering if there can be a connection between yeast infections and ovarian cysts? Anybody have any idea or been through this or know where to get some info? I am seeing my dr a specialist who deals with only female vaginal problems but she is just as baffled as i am...

  • Answer:

I would recommend switching to another gynecologist who specializes in ovarian cysts. I used to have both the cysts and infections, until they switched me to a lower dose of hormone on my birth control which virtually stopped it. I still get the occassional infection twice a year but it used to be back to back just as you're describing, are you taking your medication completely for the infections? Because if not that could be the source, good luck
