Do dogs & cats have twins?

If I give humanized cats and dogs PET cats and dogs should the PET cats and dogs be specific breeds?

  • I am writing a multicultural comic book for kids about streetfighting cats and dogs that fight crime. The streetfighting cats and dogs are HUMANIZED CHARACTERS. If I give them PET cats and dogs should the pets be specific breeds or should they be some generic-looking hybrids? The HUMANIZED cats and dogs are various cat and dog breeds but should the PETS be specific breeds? Or would that "confuse" people? In Goof Troop Goofy who is a humanized dog had a pet cat and Pete, a humanized cat had a pet dog, but Goofy and Pete are generic-looking funny animals that don't resemble any any specific cat and dog breed. Please help.

  • Answer:

I would not give them pet cats and dogs. I urge you not to, as well. It would be really weird and make people start questioning the function of your world instead of focusing/enjoying on the streetfighting action adventure. If they must have pets, stick to a completely different species like rabbits or lizards or mice or hamsters or hell, lions and tigers and bears. Generic looking hybrids would also work but I'd stick away from tell-tale dog and cat traits, such as whiskers and wagging tails. Think little animals like Pokemon or whatever. I doubt making the pets specific breeds would help, especially not a casual fan, and you need to be appealing to a casual fan. That's where dedicated fans come from.
