A question about ebay return.

Ebay Question: Even if Seller has no 30-day return guarantee....?

  • Can you contact them about returning or canceling an order? I found an Ebay Seller grossly overpriced some items, and am able to acquire the same items thru another Seller for 1/7th the price per item. What is my recourse? Are Ebay Sellers not held to the same return policy like other retailers? Please Help and thanks! 022808 3:15

You can always click the contact seller link and send them a note. But in this case the seller is most likely not going to make any adjustments. When you purchased the item you agreed to the price that the seller asked and if you find it later at a lower price the only thing you can do is buy both and average out the price. That price was fair to you at the time of purchase or you wouldn't have bought it.I don't know of any ebay sellers that have a low price guarantee. You can still drop a note. Some sellers will do anything to keep a customer satisfied. By the way I have bought things on ebay many times only to discover that I paid way too much. It's the whole auction rush thing that gets ya. God bless!!

It's an auction. Thus, the phrase "caveat emptor" - which means let the buyer beware. You typically can only demand a refund if you don't receive the goods, or the goods are substantially different than advertised. You can always try though, good luck.

Ebay sellers can create their own set of rules. I have bought and sold items on eBay and have found it to be a source of great headache and distress as well as a great place to find a deal. You can still appeal to the seller, explaining your situation. I had a similar circumstance where I decided I no longer needed an item I purchased and the person was able to put it back on auction. He wound up getting a higher bid than I had given in the first place, so it was a true win-win situation for the both of us. Give it a shot! I wish you all the best!

No, I'm afraid you are stuck. I do a lot of buying on eBay and I do extensive research before bidding on an item. Why didn't you look at 10 to 20 items (same items) and see what the price spread was first? At least you should learn something from this.
