How do you list an eBay item as "Buy it Now?

Ebay- Please Answer! Payed for item, Seller unresponsive...Not sure what to do next!?

  • Let me start by saying that Im new to ebay. I bid on a jacket (only one on ebay) a couple of weeks ago, but i didnt win. I got an email later saying that the buyer didnt go through with the payment, and that I can use the "buy it now" option to buy it. I saw it too late though, when the item was relisted. I bid on it again, and i was outbidded by another user. Again, I get an email (yes, its from ebay themselves im 100% sure its real) for a "buy it now" option since the winner didnt go through with the payment. I was kind of suspicious, but I bought it anyway, and I payed with paypal. The payment is complete. Ive received emails from ebay about buying it and how everything is complete. See, Ive put the item on my watch list, and i got a notification that it was relisted AGAIN! And I just bought it! What's going on? I havent heard from the seller, or anyone else about my item. I payed for it and thats it. Will I get my item? How do I know if I will or not?

    My guess is that the seller has multiple items. What you received is called a "Second Chance Offer". A seller can list one item, get 10 bids. The winner wins, and the buyer can offer an identical item to the other bidders for their bid price. This is very common on Ebay. Since it's coming from Korea, I'd wait at least 21 business days to receive the item. You can also contact the seller (Just go back to the item page and you'll see the link). If after 21 business days you have no jacket and no contact from the seller, go to Paypal and offer a dispute claim. Good luck.

Have you contacted PayPal? That is the first thing you should do. PayPal will look into things for you. You should also go to Ebay and file with them. If you use your credit card to pay through PayPal and things don't get resolved, then call your credit card company and tell them you paid for something you never got and they will reimburse you for the money. I am assuming that this was very recent since it went through 2 cycles of selling. Give it a few days and try emailing the seller and ask about shipping. Like if there is a tracking number. Some sellers do not bother to contact the buyer and just ship the item. (I think thats bad business, but thats me) If you still do not get a reply, file a complaint with Paypal. Its not a claim, what they do is have you write, through them, to the seller. Usually its enough to get the seller to at least reply. If after 15 days you still hear nothing, then file the claim with PayPal (you have to do it before 20 days) and they will get your money back. I have had to do it twice in my ebay history and the seller shipped my product out the very next day in one case, with all the excuses and in the second it went to claim, I got my money and then he shipped it out and I had to repay him...once I got it. Its all pretty simple, never got screwed yet. Good luck.
