A question about ebay return.

Ok..return to sender ebay usps question?

  • Well..I got some shoes shipped to me but they never showed up. I had them shipped to my home address (like I've done with every other package at all my previous residences). I have a PO Box but the USPS website said my house was on their route and they would deliver to me. So I went to USPS office and they said since I have a PO Box that they wouldn't deliver to my house and would return to sender. So do I have to pay another shipping fee? To get it sent to my PO Box? Thanks for the info guys.... USPS ftl :(

  • Answer:

USPS (United States Postal Service) will deliver to PO Boxes as that is part of their set up, not the other carriers. UPS (United Parcel Service) will not deliver to PO Boxes and will return to shipper. So, it depends on which you mean. You may have to pay additional if the error is on your side. However, there are some things to check first: 1. If the seller stated they ship only to verified accounts (PayPal) and your verified account was a P.O. Box, they (seller) should know that UPS will not deliver to P.O. Boxes (and PayPal should not have let the transaction finish with a P.O. Box). They should have contacted you to ask for a delivery address and not a P.O. Try to reason with the seller letting them know that you believed they would provide the best shipping method for your circumstances (unless it was stated in the Auction as UPS only). Contact PayPal, if this is how you paid - they have a help customer service that can help you solve these kinds of issues (item not received). 2. If seller ships to UPS only (listed in Auction that way) and you only have a P.O. Box - then, you should have contacted seller beforehand and let seller know you have a P.O. Box and need it sent USPS, not UPS, or you should have let them know the address where they could UPS an item. If this is the situation - they stated in terms, it's your responsibility to pay for the additional shipping costs, or provide them with the address where they can UPS. 3. If you really mean USPS, then all should be okay, as it is the Postal service that provides P.O. Boxes. Many sellers are reasonable about mistakes, especially if they omitted something from their auction that caused the error and most especially if buyer makes every attempt to contact them and work things out. I wish you much luck!
