UPS lost my package. What do I do?

Having a problem with UPS? I think my package got lost/stolen?

  • Hello everyone, (Happy Holidays) I'm having a problem with UPS at the moment. I placed an order and bought 40 dollars in gifts from a trusted website. I placed my order on the 22nd and ordered a 2 day-air-shipping. The company is located in Virginia and I live in Chicago. The company provided me with a UPS tracking number and I was tracking my package since then. I've been having no problems at all and UPS told me the package would be here today (the 24th). I always see a UPS truck by my neighborhood around 12pm-1pm time. My mother and I kept our eyes for it all morning, afternoon and now it's almost 7pm and no package. I checked the tracking information and it says my package was delivered to my address today at 1:46 PM. No package was ever taken to my doorstep, etc. I waited 2 hours and called UPS, where they told me the same thing. I waited 3 more hours and had my boyfriend call them. They told him the package was delivered and that my best bet was to contact the company I bought the stuff from and ask them to solve the issue. Has anyone ever had a problem with this? This is my first time ever doing online buying/using UPS and it's been horrible. I don't know exactly what I can do. I know this is a very busy time in the Holiday season, I just want to know if at some point, even next week, I can get my package or have my things here. I payed for that stuff and I pretty much want it =/ Thanks. Please share your experiences and if UPS can help me out.

  • Answer:

You have not stated in your letter as to what the trusted website is, but what ever it is, if it is a genuine seller, you will either get back your money or your goods though after a substantial delay. From what I understand from your letter, the seller has goofed. He or she has provided you with a wrong tracking number that belongs to somebody else's shopping list. And as such, what you have to do is, contact your seller and ask for the correct tracking number. From what you say, it is possible that the seller has mixed the baggages and possibly has not shipped your item at all. UPS has nothing to do with this bungling. And UPS never bungles with addresses. And UPS is answerable to the person who shipped the package and not to the person who is supposed to receive the package. This is the norm not only in your country, but also worldwide and especially in India where I reside. In fact, you are lucky that UPS answered your query, whereas, in my country they would not even do that unless I am the seller. And this has happened to me a number of times and I have got my stuff through the seller. And as such, push the enquiry through your seller. UPS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT AND IS NOT ANSWERABLE strongly, TO YOU AS A BUYER. .
