  I live in Australia, and let me tell you, if you want a job bad enough you can get one! If its hospitality, such as a restaurant (we have all types, asian, italian, mexican etc) you need to possess good customer service skills, and also quick on your feet. If its retail, (jewellery, clothes, shoes etc) you also need to posses good customer service skills, as well as basic business knowlegde! For example, you need to know how to merchandise a shop, possibly work a computer, banking etc. Most jobs have on the job traing so you wont be thrown into a position expected to perform backflips...
