What happens at a Hollister group interview?

  • I got asked to go for the seasonal jobs but I didn't show up and went in about a week later and the manager remembered me and my name and everything and asked me to come again. Can someone tell me what to expect from these kind of interviews and what types of questions they will ask?

hello, the MAIN reason any employer holds a group meeting is too see how you engage with other people, too see " if you play well with others"... the theory is that if you are applying too work at hollisters, most likely you will be in some sort of sales, which involves interacting with customers ie. cloting sales... suggestive sales..... this is key! if you were a manager or big shot at hollisters, and selling clothes too preppy younger people is your bread n butter, the best way employee traits you would want in your applicants is the GIFT OF GAB... they figure if they put you in a room with other applicants, the best applicant will verbally step up to the plate and interact as a leader on whatever issue they throw at you.... they are looking for leadership, sales ability, and communication skills... after all, you will be representing their products, their company and you will have too hit some sales numbers in order too be successful... you have too keep in mind, the management will view this group as an interactive tool, with all of the folks that are seeking employment, and if you are a bump on the log just sitting thier, well you can be rest assured that you wont be offered any employment... and why? well, if you owned or managed a company, would you want a sales rep that was a sap and was introverted? hell no! if you had millions of bucks invested in capital, merchandise, training, management, you will demand that your customers enter a store and are greeted with a smile, and someone warm and helpful... suggestive sales, you will hear these terms in retail..... so, if you go too this group interview, regardless, no matter what the issue, take the initiative, take the floor from jump! show that your a leader, your a winner, you have no fear, you can handle this, communicate, and focus well enough too work for this company... they want those individuals that have leadership, teamwork, honesty, critical thinking skills, and motivation...... sales people are self motivated, why? well if you dont sell, YOU DONT GET PAID! ahhh, its not that rough, but you do have too stand out in this group, whatever you do, do not exude any negative traits, sarcasm, negativity etc... you will be sunk right away... these folks are looking for basics, common sense, communication, cool head and how fast you pick on things... seems like a lotta stuff, but hell, once you get the sales experience under your belt, youll off to the races.... may your paychecks BE FAT!!! good luck!

I worked there for a few months and when you go they will ask you what diversity means to you. be attentive make eye contact and be first to answer questions. don't dress up! go in the store and find the common color everyone is wearing (red, gree, blue ETC...) every season there is a dif color. wear those colors! they will call you the next day.

Whats your sales experience? Whats your best quality? What would your friends say about you? What would you tell a friend who wants your discount?

The one i was in had about 7 ppl and they took us out in front of the store and had us stand in a circle. They would ask each question and go around the circle having each person answer it. They do it like this b/c they wanna see who the most outgoing. And they asked questions like "Why do you like about Hollister" and "What do you do in your spare time/hobbies?" they ask the more serious questions when they ask you back for the 2nd interview (one on one) like about your employment history and stuff. good luck =)

some lady

are you a team player? can you handle criticism from an irate customer if you have problems with a customer , what should you do---seek management calmly do you like Hollister clothes? could you push the sales on our store? do you understand not to be to pushy? can you handle a situation if left unattended? if someone steals, How would you handle it. again seek management

youll pretty much just have to tell them your good with people, hard working, and suck up a little and say you love their clothes. show up in maybe a pair of their jeans? theyll ask you things like "are you good with people" "can you work in a stressful environment?" stuff like that. its easy.
