RESUME HELP NEEDED! Need to know where to place something on Resume...?

  • If I attended an event for a company, where would I place that event on my resume saying so? I am applying for a job at the company which the event was held. It was a valuable event which few people were chosen for.

  • Answer:

I suggest listing it under a Career Development section (you can list any training courses here as well). Something like: Event Name - Company Name (date) You can also mention attending the event in your cover letter. It seems like a great lead in to why you are interested in working for the organization. Here is a potential cover letter "opener:" "I am writing to express my strong interest in your open (position name) position. I had the opportunity to attend the (event name) that (company name) hosted at (location), and am confident that (company name) is a place I would like to put my skills to work" Hope that helps! Best of luck on the job search.

You make a new column heading - Extra curricula activities and list your seminar/date/instructor.
