Can you buy games straight from your Xbox 360 and if so, how?

If I buy and Xbox 360 core, can I play games straight out of the box, or do I have to buy stuff?

  • Also, where is the best place to get one? Can the Xbox 360 Arcade play regular xbox 360 games? Which is the best Xbox 360 to get, the Core, Arcade, the premium, or the elite? Ca I get one for less than $150? $200?

    If you get the core then you need to either get a memory card or a hard drive. Your better off getting the premium or arcade. If you have a hd tv and want to use hdmi cables then you may want the elite. Best place to get one? maybe ebay. Arcade xbox plays regular games too. In my opinion the elite is the best one. It has 120 gb hard drive and hdmi connection....and black just looks better than the white, lol.

no. arcade is about 250 and comes with game and 256mb harddrive. eliet has 120mb hardrive. pro (premium) has 20mb harddrive. arcade is the only one that comes with game. yet elite has the most memory. there is no more cores.

Dave is correct you may be paying more for elite but it costs less in the long run like the rrod cause the elite is new so less chance and also not many people know this but the black also does not heat as fast as any other colour so its by far superior

i love the elite..............the best 360 out there....a little more pricey......but you would love all of its benefits.....try...best buy. .....gamestop........something like that...........not a walmart or target...........they normaly dont cary them...... ...................hope i was help...............

they go for about 300-400.......they all can play xbox games you just have to get it into the Internet in order to down the update but that's its......the place you can get one cheap is eBay

okay yes u could play straight from the core box; however, you could not save, play music, or have x-box live, i got mine from game stop and it works great. I also got a warenty on it which i think is good. Unless your hard core gamer dont waste your money on the elite

There are a few games that requires you to have either a memory card or a hard drive, but the number is really, really small. Best place to get them is probably Wal-mart or Costco since they tend to sell them for a little cheaper than other stores. Of course, the Arcade can play 360 games. If you mean regular XBX games, then it's no unless you get the hard drive. To play XBX games on the 360, you need the hard drive. The best is the premium. It's the most reasonable. The core sucks because of the lack of the hard drive. The Elite is expensive. You're paying an extra 100 bucks for an extra 100 gb hard drive. The only way that you can get any 360 for 150 to 200 bucks is on eBay.

I would personally choose the Premium system It's not wise to buy a Core system because those are discontinued. The Elite system is just a Black Premium with a bigger hard drive and a HDMI cable which cost more money . It's best if you save up a little more money and a premium system from a store.
