(DSi) I can connect to the store and the web, but not games?

Well I bought Pokemon HG today (or yesterday now) and all day I've been trying to get the WiFi on my DSi to work. I eventually got it to work with a pin on connection 4 (which is the advanced connection) and I can access the store and browser. The test shows no problems and it runs smoothly. But, when I get into pokemon and go to a WiFi room, it won't work. Anyone else get this problem and does anyone know how to fix it?

Answer:
Pokemon Wifi often requires "friends" which require two people to exchange Friend codes with each other. You might be using a Wifi feature that requires "friends" which you dont have, thus it doesnt work.
