Why doesn't the Super Card DS One work on my new DSi?

  • I just got the new Nintendo DSi today and I have the Super Card DS One. This is how the chip looks like that I have: http://i43.tinypic.com/wio6ky.jpg When I put that in my DSi, it says: "An error has occurred. Press and hold the Power Button to turn the system off. Please see the Nintendo DSi Operations Manual for help troubleshooting." Also, my sister has the old Nintendo DS and it always worked there. How come the chip won't work on the new DSi?

    The old emulation chips don't work with the DSi. There is a new chip available already though, I believe it is called something like the Aztec. I'll check for you. Edit: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.13829 the price is steeper than R4, DSone ect. but that's your only option. I was a bit off with the name =p The person above me is wrong. I know 100% that this chip was out before the American release of the DSi.

The DSi refuses to be compatible with devices like that because it's considered hacking and can lead to video game piracy (downloading and playing games you haven't legally paid for). The DSi cannot be hacked, just like the PSP 3000. Cards like the R4, M3 Real, Action Replay and Super Card DS will NOT work on the DSi.
