What's the music off the grand theft auto 4 advert?

Why didn't they call Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, "Grand Theft Auto 4", and Grand Theft Auto:San Andreas...?

    Because all of the numbered Grand Theft Autos (1,2,3,4) All take place in Liberty City (New York). If they would have called Grand Theft Auto Vice City Grand Theft Auto 4, then buyers would have thought it took place in New York like the previous ones. They basically just wanted to avoid all confusion! Know what I mean? Oh and P.S. This isn't really a dumb question!

The numbered GTA's were all set in Liberty City in the same time period. Vice City was set in the 80's, and San Andreas was set in a whole new place. I believe it's cause of the location.

Vice City and San Andreas were part of the GTA 3 ERA. If you notice all the Mafia familys are the same threwout all 3 games. (including Vice City/Liberty City stories) GTA 4 is starting a whole new ERA with new characters, new mob familys, and stuff like that. It also has to do with the game/graphic engines they use to make the game. Every time they update them they usually will start a whole new ERA or series.

to everyone who said 1, 2 and 3 were in Liberty City need to do some research. GTA was set in Vice City, Liberty City AND San Andreas and the expansion packs also set it in London. GTA 2 was set in the near future in "Anywhere City", not based on any real place.

Vice City & San Andreas were built using the GTA 3 game engine. GTA 4 uses a completely updated or new game engine, hence the need for a new sequel number.

Does it matter? At the end of the day, GTA 4 is certainly not the forth rendition of this game, so it is an odd name generally. But I'm sure they have their reasons.

Vice city and San Andreas sound a little more attractive. Thats probably the reason.
