How do i fix the combat arms error?

When i run combat arms i get a "GetDeviceCaps() Failed!" error. how do i fix this?(also running windows 7)?

• Not long ago i got windows 7 installed,after it was done i installed combat arms i ran the game but i got the error "GetDeviceCaps() Failed!" and i had windows XP home edition and it worked perfectly all my drivers are updated and everything goes very fast but the only thing that is bothering me is that error. So i figure why not just ask my parents..... of course one doesnt know and the other thinks they know but they really dont and almost screwed my comp up ='( so i finally decide to come to you guys. i really need help plz if anyone uses windows 7 and has it running please tell me how.

  most games dont recognize that they can use DirectX 10 instead of 9.0c combat arms is one of those games since it was made back when Win XP was just released try to find a DirectX9.0c runtime component and install it if it still has that error, do a full driver update (sound and video card)
